Asian games Update: Day 10 Review

The 10th day at Asian Games 2018 brought India 9 more medals in Indonesia on Tuesday. In Athletics, Manjit Singh clinched gold in men's 800 metres while Jinson Johnson bagged silver.

On the other hand, ace shuttler PV Sindhu became the first Indian to win a Silver medal in Badminton.

PM Modi congratulated PV Sindhu in Twitter saying, "The formidable @Pvsindhu1 is one of India's most talented and inspiring athletes. Her skills and perseverance are noteworthy. She wins the prized Silver Medal in Badminton at the #AsianGames2018. Her accomplishment makes 125 crore Indians happy and proud."

Assam's golden girl Hima Das added another medal to her kitty at the ongoing Asian Games in Jakarta as team India secured a silver medal in 4X400m mixed relay event.

The Indian team comprising of Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Poovamma Machettira, Hima Das and Rajiv Arokia finished the race with a time of 3:15.71.

India also settled for two Silver medals in Archery as both the Compound Men's and Women's teams lost to South Korea in their respective Finals.

India bagged two medals in Kurash, a form of wrestling indigenous to central Asia, with Pincky Balhara winning a silver and Malaprabha Yallappa Jadhav bagged a bronze, both in women's 52 kg. category. The Indian Men's Table Tennis team had to content with a Bronze after losing to South Korea 0-3, in the semi-finals.

In other action,  India mauled Sri Lanka 20-0 in yet another goal festival in Men's hockey. They will now face Malaysia in the semi-finals on Wednesday. The Indian Women's Hockey Team registered their fourth consecutive victory in Pool B as they defeated Thailand 5-0.

India now have 50 medals in its kitty comprising 9 Gold, 19 Silver and 22 Bronze and are now placed 8th in the table. China continues to the top the tally with Japan second and South Korea third.
