Assam's COVID-19 death toll reached 98 after four more patients succumbed to the disease on Friday. This was informed by state health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through his twitter handle.
The deceased has been identified as Manik Saha (68) of Hojai, Minu Banik (30) from Kamrup Metro, Gopal Das (68) of Jorhat and Bijay Sarkar (59) from Dibrugarh.
The COVID-19 situation in the state worsened as cases are rising at an alarming rate.
The state registered 38407 cases with 9230 active cases.
