Voting for the first phase polls in five Lok Sabha constituencies – Kaliabor, Tezpur, Lakhimpur, Jorhat and Dibrugarh- in Assam will be held on Thursday.
A total of 41 candidates including two women and 12 Independents are in the fray for the five parliamentary constituencies in Assam and 9,574 polling stations have been set up for smooth conduct of elections.
In the first phase of polls, a total of 7,60,3458 voters, with 3,86,5334 males, 3,73,7970 females and 154 voters in Third Gender category will vote from five Lok Sabha seats to elect their representative.
