A delegation of Assam BJP including the MPs has met Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Minister of Human Resource Development Government of India and submitted a memorandum to regularise the services by simplifying the validity of the TET teachers of Assam.
BJP State committee asked Pokhriyal to intervene immediately in the matter of TET teachers and requested to simplify the validity of TET 2012, so that the teachers who qualified TET 2012 become eligible for the recruitment of permanent teachers, in Assam to be taken up in near future.
In the 2016 Assembly election, the BJP government had assured the TET teachers through our election manifesto (Assam Vision Document, 2015 2025) that the services of the TET teachers will be regularised when BJP comes to power.
It is a fact that after giving the assurance in the election manifesto 41,000 TET teachers and their family members exercised their franchise in favour of BJP and its alliance partners in the 17th Loksabha election. So, it is a sympathetic reason to fulfill their reasonable demands since it was a pre-election promise.
"Moreover, the question of livelihood of thousands of family arises and it is Govt's responsibility to think very sensitively on the humanitarian ground": Ranjeet Kumar Dass, State President Bharatiya Janata Party, Assam Pradesh.
