Assam BJP Spokesperson Mehdi Alom Bora has resigned from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday evening.
The spokesperson submitted his resignation paper to the party's state unit president.
"I have decided to resign from the party because the people and my community are important than the party." – Bora quoted.
He also informed that the major reason behind the resignation is because of the prevailing situation including the issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 which has been passed in Lok Sabha today.
"This is very unfortunate and surprising," he added.
