#Floods : Central team arrives in Assam

An Inter-Ministerial Team of Government of India has arrived Assam on Tuesday to visit and assess the most Flood affected areas during last Flood season in the State.

After a brief meeting with the Senior Officials of Assam Government on the damage and loss of the human lives and properties of various departments, the Team will leave for their field visit in concerned districts on 4th September 2019.

The team will visit the districts viz. Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Morigaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji and Dibrugarh for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation in the wake of floods in 2019 in the state.

During their visit, the team will interact and discuss with the District Administration and other concerned Departmental Officials of the visiting districts. They will leave for New Delhi on 6th September 2019.

The team comprised of the following members – Shri Ajay Gangwar, advisor (Ops), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), New Delhi (Team Leader), Shri SB Tiwari, Under Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, New Delhi, Shri Jintu Das, Joint Director, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmer Welfare, Shri Rajib Das, Asstt. Director, Ministry of Power, Delhi, Shri Amarnath Singh, Director, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi, Shri V.D. Roy, Superintendent Engineer, Ministry of Jal Shakti, CWC, Guwahati and Shri Sachin Kr. Gautam, Executive Engineer, Ministry of Road, Transport and Highway.
