Congress MP from Barpeta, Abdul Khaleque will donate his one month salary for relief in flood-ravaged Assam, where thousands have lost their houses.
According to reports, the Congress MP will donate his salary to Barpeta District Congress’ flood-relief fund. The Barpeta District Congress will distribute relief materials among the flood-affected people in Barpeta, Bongaigaon and Nalbari districts.
It may be mentioned here that, MPs draw a basic salary of Rs. 1,00,000 each month along with constituency allowance and the secretarial costs.
Earlier, sprinter Hima Das on Tuesday donated half of her month’s salary for the flood relief of the State. She reportedly contributed to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
