In response to the devastation caused by the Assam floods, PMO on Friday announced that the PM has sanctioned an ex-gratia sum of Rupees 2 lakh each "for next of kin of persons who lost their lives due to floods in Assam from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund." More than 12.5 lakh people have been affected by the Assam floods this year.
The PMO tweeted,"PM @narendramodi has sanctioned ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each for next of kin of persons who lost their lives due to floods in Assam, from PMNRF."
