KMSS-AJYCP announces agitation prog on CAB

The KMSS and the AJYCP today jointly announced a series of agitational program aiming at the  upcoming Rajya Sabha and Assembly Session starting from the last days of the January month. The agitational program include torch light procession, road blockade and state wide protest and both the organisation have requested ordinary people to take over the agitational program in all parts of the state.

Addressing a press conference KMSS chief Akhil Gogoi said that Assam was heading towards a Tripura like situation and the indigenous people would be marginalized.

Pointing towards the recent aggressive stance of the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the KMSS leader said that it was due to the competition between Himanta Biswa Sarma and CM Sarbananda Sonowal. According to Mr Gogoi it had reached an all time high.

He also pointed that Sonowal's recent aggressive stand was basically aimed to counter Himanta's posture so that his bête noire did not "gain more marks" from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Gogoi pointed out that Nagaland, Manipur and Sikkim have been opposing the Citizenship bill even though the bill was not applicable to the states as it is protected under Article 371 (A) of the Constitution.
