Assam-Mizoram Border Row: 3 Shops Set on Fire

The Assam-Mizoram border tense prevailed again after three shops have been set on fire by Mizo miscreants on Monday night. As a result, the tension in the border areas re-emerged.

The Assam Police and Assam government are still silent on the issue despite the border tension emerged in Lailapur at Assam-Mizoram border.

Moreover, around five kilometers of Assam land are now under the control of Mizo Police but still no action has been taken to control the situation. The Mizo police are roaming in the areas with arms and ammunitions but failed to control the tension erupted in the border areas after the shops have been set on fire by the Mizo miscreants.

According to reports, the Mizo people are excavating earth with JCB within the five kilometer radius of the border to set up camp for the Mizo police of the IR Battalion.

However, the Assam police are silent despite of witnessing such situation in the border. The locals alleged that the Assam police have surrendered before the Mizo police for which the Mizo people have taken the advantage to encroach the land of Assam.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has discussed the issue with the Mizoram CM Zoramthanga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Prime Minister and Home Minister have assured to find out solutions for the ongoing border tension that erupted between the two states.
