Assam owes Rs 248 crore dues to power generation companies

As per data published on government portal ‘Praapti’, Assam owes an amount of Rs 248 crore dues to power generation companies.

10 states – Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Haryana have been named “worst” in terms of clearing dues of power generation companies by state-owned discoms.

These states owed a total amount of Rs 32,024 crore in February, 2018.

Among the other northeastern states, Arunachal Pradesh owes an amount of Rs 16 crore while Meghalaya owes Rs 273 crore.
