The Assam Government is planning to host the Filmfare Awards ceremony in Guwahati, the Filmfare Awards are a set of awards that honour artistic and technical excellence in the Hindi-language film industry of India. The Filmfare ceremony is one of the oldest and most prestigious film events in India.
The State government has sanctioned Rs 300 crore for the tourism sector in the Assam Budget 2019.
“We have sanctioned ₹ 300 crore to Assam Tourism in the Assam Budget 2019. To promote the state as a global tourist destination, for the 1st time we are exploring the possibility of hosting the filmfare Awards in Guwahati”: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said.
CM also said his government is chalking out strategies to organise the Raas Festival of Majuli and Nalbari districts on the lines of the Ambubachi Mela held atop the Nilachal Hils in the Kamakhya Temple.
