Assam Police busts numerous illegal smugglings in the state

Assam Police had busted numerous cases of illegal smugglings in the state on Wednesday. Police teams at various places in Assam had carried out operations where they have seized large quantities of illegal substances and apprehended racketeers.

At an operation carried out by Cachar police, Burmese supary at the Kabugang area has been seized. A total of 80 bags of Burmese Supary had been seized from a truck while taking it to a godown. Cachar police has also apprehended two smugglers who are identified as Nazmul Hussain Laskar and Tazmul Hussain Laskar.

At a separate operation against drugs, Police had once again seized 12 grams of Heroin at Bokajan from the residence of Prabhas Shah. As per reports, the seized heroin worth of Rupees 40 lakhs was buried in soil and police had apprehended wife of Prabhas Shah, Parvati Devi and their two sons Ramdev Shah and Kapil Shah.

Police had also seized drugs at Jaluguti of Morigaon district on Wednesday and apprehended Iqbal Hussain in relation with the drugs racket. The operation was carried at Iqbal Hussain's residence wherefrom police seized a container full of drugs along with 15 empty drugs containers.

Another operation was carried out at Tarabari of Sarthebari wherefrom police seized 1200 tablets of harmful drugs and 26 empty containers along with a syringe. The drug racketeer has been identified as Shahdat Ali who is apprehended by police in the case.

Additionally, another case of drug racket had also been reported in Guwahati today. The Guwahati crime branch seized drugs from the vehicle bearing registration no AS 01EC 1175.

As reported, the crime branch had followed the truck from Khetri area and captured it in Lalmati of Guwahati. The police have seized one packet of drugs along with thirteen thousand rupees from the truck driver who has been identified as Babu aka Dwipen Deka. Meanwhile police is carrying out operations in search of the truck handyman.

As reported, the handyman was living as a tenant in the residence of MLA Dr. Idris Ali of Dhing constituency. Although the handyman was not found in the rented room, police and crime branch team had apprehended another young man and seized drugs. The man is identified as Bapukon Ali of Hajo.

As per reports, operation is still in force by the police and crime branch team to bust drugs racket in the state.
