Amid widespread criticisms over the leakage of the SI exam’s question paper before its commencement and the resultant cancellation of the same, the date for re-conducting the exam has been announced.
The SI exam, that is to say, the exam to recruit Sub-Inspectors in Assam Police, will again be conducted on October 25.
As per sources, all SPs of the various districts of the state have been informed of the same.
However, as learnt, the date is likely to change, as it coincides with the Durga Puja festival.
It must be noted that the leakage of the SI exam’s question paper has sparked quite a row and public outrage.
Under pressure to prove the Home Department’s efficiency in punishing the culprits behind the crime, the Assam government seems to have initiated a series of actions. CID, last night, raided the residence and hotels of former DIG of Assam PK Dutta, who is believed to be behind the leak.
