Atleast 4 persons killed in BJP-TMC clash at Bengal

At least four persons were killed allegedly and three others were severely injured when a clash broke out between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members in Nazat area in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Saturday night.

However,police has declined to comment on the deaths but they said that a hugecontingent has been rushed to the spot to control the situation.

According tosources of BJP and TMS, it said that the clashes broke out over removing flagsof the saffron party in the area.

State BJPGeneral Secretary Sayantan Basu however claimed that three of the party workersSukanta Mondal, Pradip Mondal and Shankar Mondal were shot dead when theystopped TMC workers from throwing away the party flag of BJP.

Basu furtherinformed that they have received bodies of three of their workers and that theyhave reports that two more party members have died but they are yet to receivethe bodies. He said that when the BJP supporters tried to stop the TMCsupporters from throwing away their party flags and posters, the TMC workersshot from point blank range.

Meanwhile,senior BJP leader Mukul Roy said that the party would apprise Union HomeMinister Amit Shah about the incident as the TMC is solely responsible forunleashing violence against BJP activists in Bengal.

Moreover,the TMC also claimed that one of their supporters was killed in the incident.TMC's North 24 Parganas district president and senior minister of stateJyotipriyo Mullick claimed that the party worker Kayum Mollah was hacked andshot dead by BJP workers.
