After being suspended from Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), former executive member of the party Pranab Goswami has called for a press conference this afternoon.
Goswami termed AGP as opportunistic. "The regional party has insulted the sentiment of Assamese people. The Bank A/c statements will prove the secret transactions done by two parties": Goswami said.
"The party did not consult the issue with its executive body. We strongly opposed the alliance in executive meeting. There was no discussion regarding the alliance within the party and few greedy leaders of the party took the decision on their own."
"Self interest is the motive of Keshab Mahanta, as the senior leader sold the party to crown his brother Moni Madhab Mahanta as MP from Kaliabor" : Goswami said.
It may be mentioned that AGP General Secretary Kamala Kalita on Thursday sent a letter to Goswami and informed that he has been suspended from the post of Executive Member of the party for speaking against the alliance in front of media. Kalita also informed Goswami that he has been suspended from primary membership of the party for a year.
