Senior Congress leader Bhumidhar Barman on Thursday said that a group of party leaders is eyeing on major party portfolios resulting in dissident within the party. Supporting Ripun Bora as APCC president, he further stressed that there is no need to change party leadership.
“This is not the right time to change the leadership of the party. There is definitely no need to change party president of the leader of the opposition,” said the former CM.
Speaking on party colleague, Tarun Gogoi, Barman said, “Tarun Gogoi has a lot of experiences. Every party worker should consult him.” However, Barman added, “I don’t think Tarun Gogoi should become the party president at this age.”
