Bisleri water banned in Assam

The Food Safety Department of Assam Government has prohibited the sale of brand packaged drinking water Bisleri with immediate effect. The ban has been imposed under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

According to reports, the Food Safety Department imposed the ban on Bisleri as test reports of samples revealed the presence of fluoride, higher than the prescribed limit, in Bisleri packaged drinking water. The sample was collected on April 6.

It may be mentioned here that Bisleri has its production house at Kamalpur area in Kamrup district.

The ban will remain in force for 30 days in the State.
