BJP promises 50 lakh jobs in 5 years ahead of Rajasthan polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released its manifesto for the December 7 Rajasthan polls, saying it had met 95 per cent of the promises it had made in 2013. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje promised every year, 30,000 jobs will be given in government sector in the state and 50 lakh jobs will be created in private sector in next five years.

The manifesto was unveiled by Union ministers Arun Jaitley and Prakash Javadekar, and Rajathan Chief Minister Raje, in the presence of BJP leaders and workers here.

The BJP government in the state met 630 of the 665 promises made in the 2013 Rajasthan manifesto, Raje said prior to releasing the manifesto.

"The overall completion is 95 per cent," she said.

Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi,  going all out to woo farmers in Rajasthan, promised farm loan waiver in ten days if the party forms government in the state on Monday.

Speaking at an election rally in Jaisalmer district's Pokhran Assembly constituency, Mr Gandhi said he had said the same thing in Punjab and Karnataka elections and the Congress governments there have waived loans of farmers.

"You are going to make Congress party's government in the state. Within ten days of government formation, Congress will waive farmers' loan in the state," he said.
