The All Assam Students Union (AASU), Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chhatra Parishad (AJYCP) activists waved black at Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016.
This time the incident occurred at Pathsala in Barpeta district when Himanta Biswa Sarma and State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ranjit Das went to felicitate the victorious BJP candidates of the Panchayat Elections.
The protesters also shouted slogans against the Minister and the Bill.
Reportedly the police arrested 20 protesters after the incident including central leader of AJYCP Bijan Bayan and Patshala regional Students Union secretary Saurabh Sharma.
It is to be mentioned that the Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was shown 'black flags' by members of Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and 70 other organizations on Monday at Kalomoni in Baihata Chariali of Assam.
Similar incident occurred on Monday when Students Federation of India (SFI) and KMSS activists waved black at Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal convoy at Chirang districts Bijni.
