An explosion took place at the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) regional office late Tuesday.
Initial reports suggest that a hand grenade was hurled by two bikers late in the evening inside the premises.
No injuries or casualties were reported.
Condemning the blast, the students' body demanded a clarification from the individual or organization responsible for the blast.
No arrests have been made yet and investigation on the matter is underway.
