The Indian Air Force on Wednesday (May 22, 2019), successfully test-fired the BrahMos air version missile from Su-30 MKI fighter jet.
The launch was smooth and the missile followed the desired trajectory before it hit the land target.
BrahMos is a 2.5-ton supersonic air to surface cruise missile with ranges of close to 300 km. The missile is designed by BAPL.
It may be mentioned here that the IAF on November 22, 2017, became the first Air Force in the world to have successfully fired an air-launched 2.8 Mach surface attack missile of this category on a sea target. Wednesday’s test was the second such live launch of the missile.
