The three Ministers of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) have submitted their resignations on Wednesday. AGP president and Cabinet Minister for Agriculture, Veterinary and Irrigation along with Cabinet Minister for Science and Technology; Water Resources and Minister of Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Pension & Public Grievance Phani Bhusan Choudhury tendered their resignation in Dispur.
Earlier on Monday, AGP announced to withdraw their support from Sarbananda Sonowal led government in Assam after BJP went ahead with the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha.
It should be mentioned that the Sarbananda Sonowal-led Assam government will stay afloat despite the AGP's withdrawal of support.
Meanwhile, other leaders of AGP, who were holding charges of various corporations and boards of the State have also tendered their resignation.
