After much speculation, the Election officials have announced the nomination of Congress candidate for Lakhimpur Lok Sabha seat, Anil Borgohain, as valid and accepted it. In an order the returning officer of Lakhimpur constituency has dropped the objection against Borgohain.
Earlier, his nomination had been adjourned during the scrutiny process on Tuesday. Election officials had adjourned his nomination till 5PM on Wednesday and asked him to submit valid documents regarding a suo motu objection.
Borgohain was the only candidate whose nomination was adjourned during the scrutiny process.
