Budget 2020 Disappoints Northeast: Ripun Bora
Reacting on the budget 2020 placed by union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament on Saturday, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Ripun Bora said the budget is the most disappointing in the era of Independent India.
The budget has disappointed the Northeast as the budget has not included anything for unemployment, said Bora. He also said that the budget has nothing on the economic culture.
The BJP government has taken the country towards privatization.
Welcoming the decision of listing Sivasagar among five sites which would be developed, Bora raised question as to why the government has not emphasized on Majuli. He said, “The government has also neglected the flood and erosion problem of the state.”
He also welcomed the steps taken to develop the inland water transport but is doubtful if it will only be limited in the budget. He said, the saffron party had also given such assurances earlier but it was not fulfilled.
