Cattle Laden Truck Seized in Morigaon
The cattle syndicate in the state seems like a never-ending process although many reports have been published and police and concerned authorities are being aware of the fact that cattle are being smuggled on a daily basis. But still the syndicate is on the rise and at least one vehicle is being seized every day from different places of Assam.
In a recent case, a truck has been seized carrying 11 cattle from Dalbarigaon in Morigaon district. The truck has been seized in an operation by Morigaon police under the leadership of Additional SP of Morigaon.
Police apprehended the truck driver Kasem Ali for interrogation.
Earlier this week, a local organization of Dibrugarh unit has seized a 12-wheeler truck carrying 29 numbers of cows from Kulajan in Dhemaji. The police along with the organization have seized the vehicles in the Bogibeel Bridge when was being carried from Dhemaji to Nagaon. The police also apprehended five persons in connection to this.
It has been said that Bogibeel Bridge has become the corridor of cattle smuggling in the state.
