The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Personnel and Training (AIS Division), Government of India, for the inter-cadre deputation of State NRC (National Register of Citizens) Coordinator Prateek Hajela for a period of three years.
Following the Supreme Court directive, the Centre, in a notification, said the approval has been given in relaxation of the existing guidelines to comply with the Supreme Court's October 18 direction to transfer Hajela to Madhya Pradesh.
Hajela's successor will be decided by the registrar general. "The state government has no role to play in this matter," the source said.
