The high-level committeeon the implementation of Clause-VI of the Assam Accord has finalised its report.The chairman of the committee, Retd. Justice Biplab Kumar Sarma on Thursday informedthe Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the finalisation of their report.
Speaking to media, Sarmasaid that they will officially submit the report to Union Home Minister AmitShah within a few days. Sarma said that they held a meeting with the Joint Secy of the Home Ministry, Satyendra Garg regardingthe submission of the report.
However, the Sarma refusedto divulge the contents of the report. The committee was mandated with a taskwhich has been completed within the stipulated time-frame, although a month'sextension was given which was to expire on February 15.
