Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated a state of the art incubator name as “The Nest” in Ambari on Sunday in presence of Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary in order to promote creativity and develop a startup culture among the youths in the Assam.
Facilities like conference rooms, video conferencing facilities, high speed internet connectivity, plug and play work spaces, design and testing labs are included at ‘TheNest’ . Startups will also receive various services such as assistance in the business, financial counselling, accounting assistance, legal and regulatory guidance, and access to mentors and investors.
The incubator has been set up by the Assam Government in collaboration with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP).
Rs 50 lakh will be granted by the Assam government for each startup. Rs 5 lakh will be granted for the idea towards and proof of concept while the rest of the grant will be provided for purchasing raw materials, equipment , production and marketing costs, and other essential requirements.
