Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal paid tribute to Chaolung Su-Ka-Phaa, founder of the Ahom dynasty in 13th century, on the occasion of Asom Divas, on Sunday in Jorhat and extended greetings on the occasion.
Sonowal urged people to follow Swargadeo Chaolung Sukaphaa's ideals of unity and brotherhood for a peaceful and prosperous Assam.
"Swargadeo Chaolung Sukaphaa created the base of Bor Asom by unifying various communities of Assam. Taking inspiration from the Swargadeo, we are steadfastly working towards making a strong and prosperous Assam," tweeted CM Sonowal.
