CM urges public to stand against corruption

In a move to curb corruption in Assam, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday, taking to his Official Twitter account, said, "If anyone gets to know about anyone indulging in corruption, they can inform us through all platforms, including writing to @mygovassam. We will ensure that action is taken in the matter".

In a major move to further strengthen Assam Police, CM ceremonially distributed appointment letters to 1373 newly recruited constables (Armed Branch) for Barpeta, Nagaon and Dhubri districts at Khanapara in Guwahati.

Speaking at the event, Sonowal said, "Our fight against corruption continues unabated. We aren't claiming that we have been able to root out corruption totally. We have miles to go. But we are making an honest effort to eliminate it with its entire architecture, and people must come up spontaneously against it".

Further, Sonowal urging people to come forward in strengthening the system, said, "Clean & honest recruitments help winning the trust of people & make them active stakeholders in the system. When young people from every section, particularly economically weaker ones have the chance to get into govt system on the basis of merit, they strengthen governance".
