In order to give a boost to the Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY), a five-year mega mission to double the farm income by 2022, Sarbananda Sonowal advocated for saturation model and focused interventions to achieve complete turn-around in the implementation of the scheme.
Sonowal also urged CEO of Mega Mission Societyof CMSGUY, R.T Jindal to take steps to transform the rural areas into powerhouses through Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana. The CM also made it clear thatevery component of the scheme has been calibrated to lend capacity building tothe farmers.
Reiterating about the scheme's effectiveimplementation, Sonowal said that the mega mission will bring about paradigmshift to the economy of the village. He also asked the functionaries of theMega Mission to take steps to extend its fruits to every revenue villagethrough focused interventions in direct economic activities, logistic supportincluding market linkages and community support.
Nine critical areas are being focused on underthe CMSGUY which are fishery mission, milk mission, organic mission, landmanagement and conservation mission, sericulture, khadi and cottage industry mission,road and broadband connectivity, semi processing, processing and marketlinkages, youth-yoga-sports mission and e-gram mission which are being reviewedby the Chief Minister.
To come with a fruitful objective of themission by 2022 and to double the farm income in unison with the vision ofPrime Minister Narendra Modi, Sonowal asked all major and minor departments towork as a team.
