Three coal-laden trucks have been seized by police at 36 No National Highway in Nagaon on Sunday night and also detained seven persons including driver and handymen of the trucks.
The police seized the truck while it launched an operation against illegal coal-carrying trucks.
The trucks bearing registration number AS-25 EC-0744, AS-01 JC 1041 and AS-02 CC 3403 have been seized at Kampur.
It may be mentioned that the coal syndicate in the state is rising at an alarming rate and although the government is aware of the situation, no steps have been taken against the same to control the menace.
Moreover, oppositions also alleged many times that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is also involved in the cola syndicate and therefore, the government is silent on the issue.
