Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that the Congress party cannot come to power in the next 50 years. Speaking to the media, after Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and Birendra Prasad Baishya filed their nominations for the Rajya Sabha polls, the Minister said, “Congress has been finished in the country and it cannot come back to power in fifty years.”
The Minister further said, “To run a democratic country, there should be a strong opposition, but unfortunately there is no opposition in the country right now as Congress has got only 53 seats.”
Himanta Biswa also suggested that the Congress should give Rahul Gandhi retirement. “Rahul’s presence is harmful for the Congress,” Himanta added.
