Congress Will Not Accept CAB: Ripun Bora
Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Ripun Bora on Wednesday said that the Congress will always oppose Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) for the sake of the indigenous people.
Addressing a press conference at Rajib Bhawan, Bora said that if BJP wants to make the state free from foreigners’ then why are they doing such drama urging to implement CAB in the Northeast.
He said that the BJP might bring CAB with their power but the Congress will never let it happen and it will always oppose the CAB.
Reacting on NRC, Bora asked BJP as to why they have not accepted the NRC who always took credit for draft NRC. Why Amit Shah and Narendra Modi are silent on NRC, asked Bora?
Bora further claimed that the BJP wants to keep the shop of foreigners’ open and that they want to rule the people by playing with their emotion. He further stated that the Supreme Court has made a guideline, a framework has been made by the top court but no judge has come to see the work.
The APCC President further asked BJP to show the names of foreigners’ included in the NRC adding that the Congress will prove with valid documents the names of genuine Indian citizens whose names have been excluded from NRC.
The union home minister said that not a single name of genuine Indian citizens will be excluded from the NRC then why the family members of Fakaruddin Ali Ahmed, Assam movement martyrs’ family members name have been left out from the NRC?
