Another 5 police personnel of Panbazaar police station tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. They are identified as Ganesh Kalita, Constable Anil Bora, Hasan Tarikuj Zaman, Bipul Mali.
The other constable of Panbzaar traffic department, Debashish Das has also tested positive for COVID-19.
According to reports, the police personnel were in quarantine and their swab samples were collected on June 22.
The constables have been sent to Khanapara quarantine center.
After the constables were tested positive, the other 18 jawans who were in the same barrack have been sent to Sarusajai quarantine center.
The swab samples of all the constables will be collected after which they will be referred to other quarantine centers.
A total of 80 police personnel have been infected with the virus in Guwahati out of which 20 have recovered.
