COVID-19: Guwahati Registers 7099 Cases since June 24

Guwahati registered 7099 COVID-19 positive cases since June 24. The highest single-day spike was recorded on July 4 with 777 cases alone in the city.

On Monday, 513 cases were detected in the city alone out of the 1001 COVID-19 cases have been detected in the state.

Moreover, the city registered 378 cases on July 1, 238 cases on July 2, 134 on July 3, 777 on July 4, 552 on July 5, 598 on July 6, 588 on July 7, 423 on July 8, 355 on July 9 521 on July 10, 410 on July 11, 400 on July 12 and 627 on July 14, the second highest single-day spike.

However, the most of the cases are without travel history and according to the health department community transmission started in the capital city of Assam.

Following the rising numbers of cases, the Kamrup Metro district administration has imposed lockdown in the district since June 28.

Meanwhile, the state registered 18666 positive cases of the deadly virus with 6444 active cases while 12173 patients have recovered from the disease.

The state witnessed 46 deaths due to COVID-19.
