COVID-19 +ve: Tripura breaches 4,000-mark

Tripura's coronavirus tally breached the 4,000-mark on Tuesday after 147 more people tested positive for the disease.

Of the total 4,067 COVID-19 patients in the state, 2,467 have recovered and 18 migrated to other states. The number of active cases in the state stands at 1,565 and fatalities at 17.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet on Monday night said, "Alert ~147 People found COVID-19 positive out of 4027 samples tested," adding, "Happy to share that 93 COVID-19 patients have been discharged today from various District CCCs & DCHs after their test results came negative."

The chief minister thanked people of the state for their "spontaneous response" to a three-day complete lockdown that came into effect on Monday to contain the spread of COVID- 19.

Meanwhile, a week-long door-to-door survey started from Monday morning to identify COVID-19 patients in the state. Health workers screened a total of 1,59,854 houses and collected 2,271 samples on the first day. "Among them, 90 people have been found COVID-19 positive," the chief minister said.
