As a mark of respect towards those 40 jawans who had to lose their lives in the Pulwama Terror Attack, the CRPF has decided that they will not officially celebrate Holi this year .
CRPF Director General (DG) RR Bhatnagar said that there will be no “official celebrations” in the force during the Holi festival on March 21 as respect towards martyrs of February 14 Pulwama Suicide Attack.
Bhatnagar added that a ‘mobile app’ is under making to help families of those jawans who were killed in action.
In order to better equip the troops in combat, the DG said that advanced weapons and gadgets including rifles, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), ground penetrating radars, light bullet proof jackets, and signal jammers gunshot locators are being acquired by the force.
Exuding confidence, Bhatnagar said, “The morale of the force is at the top and I can assure the country that we are prepared to meet any challenge.”
