The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that cyclone Bulbul has been gathering intensity over the Bay of Bengal and likely to turn into a very severe cyclonic storm by Friday night.
The IMD has suggested that cyclone Bulbul will hit Odisha and head towards West Bengal and Bangladesh in the upcoming days. The cyclone is expected to bring rainfall in coastal West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, coastal Odisha. The IMD has also advised a complete suspension of fishing activity from Friday onwards.
Meanwhile, 35 NDRF teams have been assigned to Odisha and West Bengal to combat the cyclone.
