At atime, when the Union Government has brought the Triple Talaq Law to make instanttriple talaq (talaq-e-biddah) in any form illegal and void, a woman wasattempted to kill by her husband for denying talaq.
The incident took place in Murajhar area under Hojai district on Saturday, where one identified as Ismail Uddin allegedly attempted to kill his wife Rubia Sultana for denying the divorce. Ismail and his family members have been continuously torturing Rubia for a couple of days. "Today they attempted to strangle her," a local said.
Rubia,a mother of two, has been admitted to a hospital with serious injuries.Meanwhile, police detained Ismail along with his father Azard Ali, motherAnuwara Begum and his brother Rahimuddin.
