Assam filmmaker Dip Bhuyan’s documentary ‘Idiom of Rug’ will be screened at the 2020 Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF). The 52-minute long documentary will be screened on January 31 (Friday) at the Audi-II in the national competition category.
The documentary is based on the Arunachal community, which makes rugs out of yak hair. It was edited by Simanta Sandilya Sarmah. Jayanta Kumar Sharma is the associate director and Sayanika Dutta Sarkar is the assistant director of the documentary, which was made last year.
It may be mentioned here that Dip Bhuyan is involved with numerous remarkable Assamese feature films over the years like ‘Hiya Diya Niya’, ‘Nayak’, ‘Konyadan’. He is also known for his works like – The Divided Soul, Resonance Of Mother’s Melody.
