Assam designer Sanjukta Dutta on Friday (May 31) showcasedher new collection at the grand stage of Gurugram International Couture Week(GICW) 2019. Divya Khosla Kumar walked the ramp for the designer and lookedmagnificent in the black and red Mekhela Chador.
As per sources, the collection included jumpsuits,skirt and crop top, saris with cape and pantsuit; each one magnificently mergedthe indigenous handicraft of Assam with mainstream fashion sensibilities.
"It was an amazing experience to walk the ramp for Designer Sanjukta Dutta. It is such a wonderful cause and Sanjukta has done a lot for rural women weavers of Assam who are not able to find the right platform to showcase their skills. Her ensemble showcases our rich Indian culture and also benefits the textile industry," Divya said.
It may be mentioned here that previously, Hema Malini, Tabu, Dia Mirza, Bipasha Basu, Malaika Arora, Preity Zinta have walked down the ramp for Sanjukta Dutta.
