The draft voter list of Kamrup Metropolitan district was released on Monday. The final list will be released on 5 January 2022, said Biswajit Pegu, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) district, while addressing a press conference.
He added that a total of 11 lakh, 69 thousand and 317 voters are registered, out of which 5 lakh 69 thousand and 437 are male voters while 5 lakh 83 thousand and 6 are female.
Mr. Pegu said, "A time period from 1st to 30th of November has been given for filing claims and objections. New voters will also be allowed to register during this period. If a person's name appears in different polling booths, it will also be rectified. The date for disposal of claims and objections has been set on 20th December, 2021".
Voting will take place in a total of 1204 centers in Kamrup (M) district.
