Educational Institutions Likely to Open from Sept: Himanta
Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that the educational institutions are likely to reopen from September. He said that the government is hopeful that the COVID-19 cases will be reduced gradually after which the schools and colleges will be functional again.
The minister further stated that the cases have come down in Guwahati as well comparatively and it is only because the people have abide by the lockdown norms.
He further stated that another 10,000 beds will be ready within August 2 after which more patients could be accommodated.
The minister further informed that the COVID Screening Center will be increased to 100. Now there are 33 centers in Guwahati and another 60 center will be set up in the city.
Speaking about the tests to be done by the shop owners, the minister said that they will have to do the tests but if anyone tests positive the shop won’t be declared as Containment Zone.
He further stated that from Tuesday, the rules of testing will be changed. The tests will be conducted in the center from 9 AM to 12 Noon and from 1 PM it will be held area wise adding that the shop owners and businessmen will have to undergo the tests.
