Elephant calf rescued in Numaligarh

An elephant calf got stuck in the mud after it fell down into a drain in Numaligarh. Locals and forest officials are trying to rescue the one and a half year elephant calf.

A video of the elephant calf has also gone viral in the social media which shows that forest officials with the help of the locals are trying to rescue it using bare hands and spades to dig the mud around the animal. It has also been seen in the video that several people are struggling to pull it up. The elephant calf is expected to weighs between 90-120 kg which is the usual weight of an elephant calf.

The baby elephant which is panicking can also been seen struggling hard to get out of the sludge with the help of the people. The joint efforts paid off and the calf was finally rescued by the people.
