Elvis Ali Hazarika became the first person from Assam to swim across the Catalina Channel in United States of America (USA).
According to reports, Hazarika began from the US and swum across the Channel to reach Mexico. He covered a distance of 80 kms within a span of 10 hours and 59 minutes.
