Erosion caused by the Bhulla river has turned serious in Simaluguri area under Udalguri district over the past few days due to the onrush of floodwater and heavy rain. According to reports, the erosion has assumed serious proportions with the rise in the waters of the river in the area.
Meanwhile, in order to prevent erosion, the publicin Simaluguri area has decided to contribute money from their own pocket as thegovernment failed to prevent the same. They alleged that local MLA RihonDaimary has not paid any visit to the erosion-hit area.
It may be mentioned here that as many as 100 people were displaced due to soil erosion in the area. A graveyard has also been washed away by the floods in the area.
