FormerMeghalaya Chief Minister and United Democratic Party (UDP) President DonkuparRoy died on Sunday. Roy was 64 at the time of his death.
Roy wasadmitted to a New Delhi hospital for the last 10 days due to some stomachrelated complications and died on Sunday at around 3:15 pm.
Roy servedas the Chief Minister of Meghalaya during the period of 2008-09. He was alsothe head of the UDP. He was first elected as an independent MLA in 1988 fromShella Assembly constituency in East Khasi Hills district.
