There are few security concern to one's privacy with the newly popular app faceApp. People are using it in wide-scale because of being fun to use and being very popular among social media users. Even celebrities are seen using it.
But along with it, there are some security concerns too. FaceApp was down for a few hours late last night but the app is now accessible. To use FaceApp, one needs to give permission access to their photos. While this seems understandable, FaceApp can do much more with your photos then just edit them.
First spotted by Forbes, FaceApp has some dubious terms of service which is detailed on the company's website. The most striking thing about FaceApp's terms of service is that the company has the rights to use "user content" for commercial purposes.
"You grant FaceApp a perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive,royalty-free, worldwide, fully-paid, transferable sub-licensable license touse, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative worksfrom, distribute, publicly perform and display your User Content and any name,username or likeness provided in connection with your User Content in all mediaformats and channels now known or later developed, without compensation toyou," reads FaceApp's terms.
